About FedEx Reporting Online

FedEx Reporting Online is a web-based application that enables you to request, view and download reports concerning the business activity you have with FedEx. In FedEx Reporting Online, you can check status of current report requests, schedule weekly and monthly reports and invite other registered users to share your accounts for reporting purposes.

All data in FedEx Reporting Online reflects shipments that have been invoiced. FedEx Reporting Online is available for all U.S. and international FedEx Express® and FedEx® Ground shipments for U.S.-based accounts.

What is FedEx Reporting Online?

FedEx Reporting Online is a web-based application that enables you to request, view and download reports concerning the business activity you have with FedEx. FedEx Reporting Online allows you to check the status of current report requests, schedule weekly and/or monthly reports and invite other registered users to access your accounts. All data in FedEx Reporting Online reflects shipments that have been invoiced.

How do I know that FedEx is protecting the information about my shipments that I’m transferring electronically?

FedEx is committed to managing all of the information associated with your account on FedEx Reporting Online with the highest standards of information security. Every effort is made to ensure complete confidentiality. FedEx Reporting Online automatically encrypts your confidential information using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol with an encryption key length of 128 bits, the highest encryption level commercially available.

What shipments are available in FedEx Reporting Online?

FedEx Reporting Online reports include all U.S. and international FedEx Express and FedEx Ground shipments for U.S.-based accounts. Other operating company shipments may be available in the future.

Registration Eligibility

Who can request reports through FedEx Reporting Online?

All customers who have an active U.S.-based shipping account with FedEx can register to use FedEx Reporting Online. The first user to register an account for FedEx Reporting Online will automatically become the administrator for the account and will be able to invite additional users to use FedEx Reporting Online.

What is an account administrator?

An account administrator is the first user to register a nine-digit account number for FedEx Reporting Online. The account administrator has two additional options under the Administration tab — Users and Change Administrator.

Can I transfer administrator rights for my accounts?

Use the Change Administrator option under the Administration tab, to transfer administrator rights on your accounts. When you take this action, you will no longer have any administrative control for reporting purposes on the accounts to which you have reassigned administrator rights.

Can other employees at my company request reports on my account(s)?

FedEx Reporting Online provides administrative functionality that allows the administrator to invite other users to share accounts. The administrator is the only person who can invite other employees to share accounts for reporting purposes. Invited users must have the same email domain as the administrator.

What is an invited user?

An invited user is a registered user of FedEx Reporting Online who is invited to share and run reports on the accounts of another registered user.

Can anyone else see my shipments in a report?

Only users you have invited to share your account(s) can view reports on your shipments.

Adding accounts and account groups

Can I create groups of accounts to use in my reports?

A registered user with multiple accounts can group those accounts and save the groups for future reporting needs.

Can I add other accounts to my profile?

You can add accounts to your profile as long as you can authenticate yourself as the administrator for those accounts. Alternatively, you can also be invited to access accounts as an invited user. To add an account, follow the instructions provided on the Administration tab within FedEx Reporting Online. You will be required to authenticate that you are the administrator for the account you want to add by providing 1) the exact billing address shown in the FedEx customer database and 2) two invoice numbers for the account you are registering.

What if I get a red message stating “Exceeded limits” above the account listing when I am adding accounts?

This message means there are more than 100 accounts in the accounts list. The dropdown list can display up to 100 entries. To view additional accounts, use the search feature below the list to filter the view and see additional accounts. The search can be filtered by account number, account name, city or state.

What if I need to view reports for a national account?

Contact your sales professional and ask for national account access permission which can only be granted by the sales professional.

Data availability

How many months of reporting data can I request?

For Summary and Detail report the maximum months of data available is 24. FedEx Reporting Online allows you to request 12 weeks of weekly data, and 24 months of monthly data.

Standard Reports

What is a standard report?

Standard reports refers to a selection of pre-formatted reports created by FedEx to provide you with shipment information about your packages. These reports are intended to help you manage your business or shipments more effectively.

What is a scheduled report?

On any of the standard report request screens, you have the option to choose either run a one-time (on demand ) report or set up a “run schedule” for the report to run either daily, weekly, or monthly. Some reports can even be scheduled down to the hour of the day.

How do I check the status of my report requests?

You can check the status of your report requests on the View Report Status page in FedEx Reporting Online. Once your report is ready for download, the View Report Status page will display a status of Complete. If you choose to receive email status notifications from your email preferences in FedEx Reporting Online, an email will be sent to you informing you that your report is ready for download or viewing.

Are FedEx Reporting Online reports compatible with Excel 2007?

Yes, FedEx Reporting Online does support Excel 2007. Please refer to Microsoft® Excel Help for any issues encountered.

Where can I get technical assistance with FedEx Reporting Online?

What types of reports can I request?

FedEx Reporting Online has six standard open-access reports available to any registered user. How do I run a report?

Follow these four simple steps to create a freight report

  • 1. Under the Reports tab, select Create New Report.
  • 2. Select your report parameters, account(s), report type and frequency.
  • 3. Click Run report.
  • 4. Under Reports tab, select View Report Status to receive report data.

 

What types of reports can I run?

You can currently run three types of reports.

  • Status Reports: Includes up to one month of shipment status information with links to tracking, invoices, Bill of Lading and delivery receipts
  • Shipment Reports: Includes up to two years of summarized or detailed shipment data
  • Shipment Breakdown Reports: Includes all the same information as the Shipment Report with a breakdown of all charges for each shipment (e.g. fuel surcharge, discount, etc.)

Why do some of the reports I used to run no longer exist?

You can pull specific FedEx Freight reporting data based on:

  • Service type (Priority only, Economy only, All)
  • Shipment type (Shipper – Outbound, Recipient – Inbound, Payer – Invoice)
  • Shipment status (Delivered, Undelivered, All)
  • Account type (9-digits Account, Facility, Sub-group, Group, Country, Division, Global Entity)

What’s the difference between a Detailed and Summary report?

A Summary report provides a consolidated rundown of multiple accounts, whereas a Detailed report offers the ability to drill down to the individual account level.

Can I customize a report name?

Yes.

How can I create my own account group?

Select the administration tab to create an account group. These personalized groups can be selected when running a report.

How often can I run a report?

Reports can be requested on a one-time basis — generating a report immediately — or on a scheduled weekly or monthly basis.

How do I receive my reports?

You will be notified via email when a report is ready for download. Reports can be downloaded in an Excel pivot table or a comma-separated value (CSV) format.
