May 21, 2012 - Another Big Weekend for Team FedEx
With 15 more state champs added to the Team FedEx roster following five TDCs held the weekend of May 18-20, the total number of FedEx drivers headed to the NTDC in Minneapolis stands at 53. Kentucky
FedEx took the Bluegrass State by storm, coming out with five state titles and multiple top-three finishes.
Wayne Crowder (FedEx Freight, Louisville) captured first place in the Flatbed class for his fourth state title. He was also awarded the Grand Champion title. FedEx Express drivers Janet Hoard (Louisville) and Doug Adams (Hebron) earned first-place finishes in the Straight Truck and 5-Axle classes, respectively, for their third state titles.
David Proctor (FedEx Freight, Louisville) earned first place in the 3-Axle class for the second straight year. Jesse Benkert, a driver for Seven Springs Enterprises based at the FedEx Ground station in Louisville, finished first in Step Van. Jesse was also named Rookie of the Year.
FedEx Freight drivers John Higgs (Louisville), John Willinger (Louisville) and Steve Orr (Northern Kentucky) posted second-place finishes in the 4-Axle, 5-Axle and Twins classes, respectively.
