Account Number Protection

FedEx may send the account owner an email each time someone else obtains the ability to use your account number for shipping purposes on FedEx Ship Manager® at fedex.com. The email will contain the name of the person who has gained access and a partial account number, as well as other pertinent information.

Protecting Your Account Number

Shipping Administration is the primary means of managing and protecting your FedEx account. As a shipping administrator, you decide who gets access to your account, and can manage their shipping activities on fedex.com. FedEx recommends that all account owners register online for Shipping Administration. Learn more about the benefits of Shipping Administration. If your account number is not administered through Shipping Administration, FedEx may notify you when anyone associates your account number with their FedEx online login ID and password for shipping purposes. FedEx has built safeguards to help prevent this; however, if someone has the required information, they may still be able to use your account.

Your Responsibility

Report Fraud

If you believe that the person named in the email should not use your account number, please contact FedEx via email. Please specify that you'd like FedEx to block this person's ability to use your account number, and provide your name and phone number. Alternately, you can contact FedEx at 1.877.339.2774 to address this issue.

Not the Account Owner?

If you are no longer the owner of the specified account number, please contact FedEx via email and provide relevant information. Please include your name and phone number. Alternately, you can contact FedEx at 1.877.339.2774 to address this issue.

Allow Legitimate Access

If you receive an email from FedEx and agree that the person named in the email should have the ability to use your account number, you do not have to do anything. You can keep the email for reference purposes or discard it.

Stop Emails

If you no longer want to receive this kind of email notification, as the account owner, you can register for Shipping Administration. Becoming the shipping administrator allows you to control who has access to your account and provides access to other valuable management tools. Learn more about the benefits of Shipping Administration and how to protect your account.
