Streamlined pickup pricing
Effective August 18, 2025, FedEx will use a new pricing and rating structure to charge for parcel pickups occurring in the U.S. and Canada. The new rating structure will charge weekly for Regularly Scheduled (U.S. and Canada) and Automated pickups (U.S. only), regardless of the service type (i.e., FedEx expedited or standard service). On-call parcel pickups in the U.S. will be charged per-stop.
Regular Pickups
- All regularly scheduled pickups, regardless of parcel service offering used, will be charged a weekly fee based on the selected number of pickup days each week, including fees charged for weekend pickups. To see parcel pickup options details, click here for U.S. details, or click here for Canada details.
- Even if FedEx performs two pickups in the same day, that will be considered a single pickup day in the fee calculation (i.e., no additional fees for multiple regularly scheduled pickups in the same day).
- Customers who have regular pickups scheduled at multiple locations (i.e., regular pickups at different locations within the same address or at a completely separate address) will be charged separate regular pickup fees per location.
- Customers with at least one pickup per week will be charged the full weekly fee based on the number of pickup days selected up front.
Automated Pickups
- All automated pickups in the U.S. will be charged a flat weekly fee for any Monday-Friday pickups, and a per-day fee for Saturday and Sunday pickups (no charge in Canada). To see parcel pickup options details, click here for U.S. details, or click here for Canada details.
- Customers with at least one pickup a week will be charged the full weekly fee; if a customer cancels every day in a week, they will not be charged the weekly fee.
On-call Pickups
- All On-call pickups in the U.S. will be charged on a per-stop basis (no charge in Canada). Pricing for On-call pickups in the U.S. will vary by day of week and scheduling method (scheduled online or via phone call with a customer service representative).
- Zero package pickups will be charged for the stop.
Customers have expressed an overwhelming preference for a single pickup. So, as Network 2.0 continues to do a phased roll out of a single pickup experience to customers across the U.S. through Streamlined Pickup and Delivery, a rationalized rating structure is a necessary next step to ensure a seamless customer pickup experience. This allows FedEx to be more agile and flexible in meeting customer pickup needs.
- This update provides a consistent and simple pricing for pickups instead of customers having to track costs by the service offering being used – one fee for both expedited and standard service offerings.
- It provides more control in scheduling pickups because customers can select the number of regular pickup days that align with their business needs.
- It allows consolidated pickups for when customers add On-call volume to their regular pickup.
- It may provide a potential cost reduction for On-call pickups since customers will only be charged per-pickup, instead of per-package.
- Customers may opt in to receive additional notifications to provide more awareness and control over pickup activity.
Are there any changes to how pickups are scheduled?
No. While there might be some scheduling updates in the near future, the existing processes are remaining in place for the time being.
