It is important to ensure that the information on all your documents is consistent and accurate, starting with the Commercial Invoice. All international shipments, regardless of value, require a Commercial Invoice. The Commercial Invoice is the foundation for all other documents and is the first international shipping document you should complete. The information provided on other documents must correspond with the Commercial Invoice.
If you’re uncertain about the documentation requirements for your shipment, visit the FedEx Document Preparation Centre, fedex.ca/international or call 1.800.GoFedEx 1.800.463.3339 and say "international services."
Return shipments from Canada
If you have a return shipment coming from Canada to any country other than the U.S., Puerto Rico or the U.S. Virgin Islands that is valued at CAD$2,000 or more, a B13A Export Declaration is required prior to export from Canada. The Canadian exporter is fully responsible for filing the export declaration and for the government fines associated with non-compliance; therefore, you must ensure that your Canadian exporter is aware of this mandatory export requirement.
