We know that your business is complicated enough, so we’ve provided you with two easy options — you can either print or email the return label and customs documentation. These options help make the return process easier for both you and your customers by allowing you to:
- Get Control
You can link the return label to the outbound shipment for increased visibility.
- Manage costs
If the return label isn’t used, you will not be charged.
1. Print Return Labels
Print the label and customs documentation for your customer and include hard copies in the outbound shipment or send a PDF or image file.
- Provide options
Your customers can use the label with special options, such as Saturday delivery, dry ice services, and Hold at FedEx Location for FedEx Express shipments. Plus, return shippers can request a pickup or drop off the shipment at a FedEx location.
2. Email Return Label
Get added control by emailing the customer a link to the editable label.
- Eliminate extra steps
Reduce calls for international returns by allowing return shippers to edit labels and the customs documentation online when the return contents don’t match the original shipment.
- Keep customers informed
You can include links for your customer to easily look up pickup information and find dropoff locations.
- Set deadlines
You’ll be able to decide how much time return shippers have to access the label.
With editable return labels from FedEx® Global Returns, you’ll be prepared for almost any return, even if it doesn’t match the original shipment. For example, if you ship three items to your customer, and they only need to return one then the return process can keep moving. The return shipper can change key information (e.g., quantity and weight), resulting in a simpler, more efficient return experience.
- Easy preparation
You’ll create the return label and customs documentation with the shipment details. You decide how much control your customer, the return shipper, has to edit these forms by granting different levels of access.
- Easy access
Once you’ve prepared the return label, FedEx sends the return shipper an email notification that contains the shipment information and a link to access the return label page.
- Easy returns
The return shipper simply populates the necessary information.
Electronic Shipping Solutions
To save time and simplify your shipping processes, you can complete your returns using a FedEx electronic shipping solution. The following electronic shipping solutions help make processing your returns (and the rest of your shipping) easier:
Tracking and Reporting
Take advantage of the advanced control and visibility offered by FedEx Global Returns. You can track the status of your shipment, receive key information about any returned item, and link a return shipment to its original shipment.
- Get notified
Set up email notifications when you create the return shipment for critical aspects of the return journey, including when it’s picked up, in transit or delivered.
- Get linked
Link the return shipment with the tracking number of the outbound shipment — even if the return shipment is created much later.
- Get reports
View, download, sort reports or maintain summaries from FedEx® Tracking. These reports will display all your return shipments, whether they’re in transit, already delivered, or not yet shipped. This information is available for up to two years.
