No. You can ship freight with any FedEx account. But you need to check the box to enable freight when you create your account. If you already have an account but don’t have freight enabled, contact your account rep.
Just about any product you can think of can be shipped via freight—with a few exceptions. There are restrictions on certain products, including:
- Dangerous goods and hazardous materials (e.g., aerosols, fireworks)
- Valuables (e.g., jewels)
- Perishables (e.g., meat, frozen foods)
