What is LTL (less-than-truckload) freight shipping?
LTL freight is a shipment that typically weighs 150 lbs. or more that requires only a portion of the trailer space on a truck. It's usually palletized. Because LTL freight doesn't fill the whole truck and isn't transported on a plane, it's more economical to ship. LTL shipments can travel within the U.S. and to Canada and Mexico.
