Printer-Friendly Ship an International Package in 4 Easy Steps

Shipping internationally isn’t as difficult as many people think. To make it even easier, we’ve created a step-by-step tool designed specifically for new or infrequent international shippers.
Are you intimidated by international shipping? Unsure how to handle customs clearance or unfamiliar paperwork? We understand. Our new tool, International Shipping 101: The Basics, can help take the complexity out of international shipping for new or infrequent international shippers. In four simple steps, you can get your shipment prepared and on its way to its international destination.

Step one: Get international shipping rates
Before you ship, it’s important to choose the service that’s the right speed for your shipment and the right price for your budget: Do you need it there overnight? Or can you trade time for savings? The rate finder will show available services, and their rates, for the shipment details you’ve entered. Just enter the origin ZIP code, the city and postal code for the destination country, and the shipment weight, and you can get a quick quote for the shipping charges.

Step two: Open a FedEx account
When you open a FedEx account online, you have access to convenient online tools and resources that make it easier to manage your FedEx® shipping — from sending and tracking the status of shipments to scheduling pickups and paying invoices. You'll need a FedEx account to create international shipping labels online.

Plus, you can get up to 16% off your eligible FedEx Express® international and U.S. shipments, as well as up to 8% off FedEx Ground® shipments.

Step three: Create your shipping label and complete international documentation

When you create your shipping label online, you’ll save time and minimize errors. With our online tools, you can ensure your labels and export documentation are complete and correct. FedEx Ship Manager® at walks you through each step and prompts you for the required information. From your entry, the online tool will identify what customs documentation is needed, and can even create the documents for you. Step four: Get your shipment to us

With more than 50,000 drop-off locations, we make it easy for you to drop off your shipment when and where it’s convenient for you. Our staffed locations accept both FedEx Express and FedEx Ground shipments. Or, if you’re on the go, just drop your FedEx Express package in a FedEx Express® Drop Box. We’ll also come to your location to pick up your shipments when you schedule a pickup online or call 1.800.GoFedEx 1.800.463.3339.
