Recognizing your deadlines can vary day to day, FedEx provides three overnight delivery options: FedEx First Overnight® by 8, 8:30, 9 or 10 a.m. the next business day; FedEx Priority Overnight® by 10:30 a.m. the next business day; and FedEx Standard Overnight® by 3 p.m. the next business day. The latter is a cost-effective choice if you can wait for afternoon delivery. In some cases, FedEx Ground, FedEx Home Delivery® and FedEx Freight may provide overnight service depending on locations and distances involved. For specific delivery commitments based on your shipment's origin and destination, please see our Get Rates & Transit Times application.

Does FedEx offer weekend delivery?

FedEx Express offers Saturday delivery options to most metropolitan postal codes. Select the Saturday Delivery option and then select FedEx Priority Overnight® service if you will ship the package on Friday or FedEx 2Day® if you will ship the package on Thursday. The shipper must select the Saturday Delivery special handling option at the time of shipment.* A Saturday delivery surcharge will apply to FedEx Express® shipments.

FedEx Home Delivery® offers standard Saturday delivery to residential addresses and may deliver on Saturdays depending on the transit time from origin to destination.

What is the difference between a detailed quote and a quick quote?

Quick Quote provides a service quote and corresponding transit time without requiring you to enter a detailed package description.

Detailed Quote allows you to enter more detailed information about the shipment — including weight, package dimensions, declared value, and additional service options — to get a service quote. A Detailed Quote is always necessary for international shipment quotes and to include an estimate of duties and taxes.

What's the difference between using FedEx Express® services and using FedEx Ground?

FedEx Express offers time-definite delivery within the U.S. and to more than 220 countries and territories, which means your time-critical shipment is delivered by a certain time. When you have more time in your schedule, FedEx Ground delivers within all 50 U.S. states and Canada – 1 to 5 business days in the contiguous U.S. and in 3 to 7 business days to Alaska, Hawaii and Canada, based on the distance to the destination. Delivery is day-definite, meaning by the end of the scheduled delivery day.

Which service would I use for residential delivery?

FedEx Express® service covers every address in the U.S., including residential addresses. There's no need to mark anything special on your shipping label. If you can trade time for savings, choose FedEx Home Delivery®, which utilizes the FedEx Ground® network for residential ground delivery.

What about global freight? How fast do you deliver international freight?

The FedEx Express fleet consists of 647 aircraft — which means lots of tonnage to handle your global air-freight needs. Two express services are designed for pieces (pallets) up to 2,200 lbs.: FedEx International Priority® Freight, with delivery in one, two or three business days, and FedEx International Economy® Freight, with delivery within five business days.

How long does it take for a FedEx Ground® shipment to arrive?

We commit to delivery in 1 to 5 business days within the 48 states, depending on the distance. Shipments to Alaska, Hawaii, Canada and Puerto Rico arrive in 3 to 7 business days. Ground services are described in the FedEx Service Guide.

Are there any package weight and size restrictions?

Yes. FedEx Ground® packages can weigh up to 150 lbs each and up to 130 inches in length plus girth. The limit for FedEx Home Delivery® packages is 70 lbs.

How much does it cost to ship a ground package?

Transportation charges depend on package weight, as well as the distance it is being shipped (the destination zone). Additional charges will apply if you choose additional services such as Collect on Delivery, or have other special needs. To easily determine a rate, visit Rates.
